Remedial Roof and Cladding Design - Khandallah

An existing architecturally designed dwelling was suffering from multiple weather tightness issues. The original plywood cladding had failed and the existing roof design incorporated several non performing internal gutters, difficult geometry, minimal falls and no clearances. A full roof redesign was required, with the challenge to create simple water removal, but also to maintain and enhance the architectural quality and appearance of the house. The angled floor plan created several challenges to geometrically design and to later construct, but the result is a very appealing and robust solution to serve the clients into the future. The replacement cladding consists of heavy powder coated aluminium cladding in a randomised vertical arrangement, aluminium soffits and long run Coloursteel trapezoidal roof cladding.
