An existing 1920s 2 bedroom dwelling was previously relocated onto a rural site. Bluepencil was engaged to substantially increase the floor area, while being sympathetic to the original house design and detailing. Dual extensions were undertaken for additional living and bedroom room space. The scale and connection of the extensions was carefully done to make appear as if part of the original design.
Bluepencil has undertaken numerous remedial works jobs on existing dwellings subject to weathertightness issues. In conjunction with building surveyor guidence and quality assurance, existing framing has been assessed and replaced where required, and new cladding systems installed to provide a robust and fully compliant solution. An existing empty commercial space was outfitted for a retail usage for a relocating optometrist firm. Specialist joinery was designed to enable a clear display of frames in a modern environment. Consultation rooms were specifically designed for optimum adjustable usage and flow.
